The Roots Wellbeing

Marisa Caruso a wholesome Nutritionist, on a mission to empower everyone to take control of their health and prove that food is truly medicine. She required branding and a website to offer her services and provide a platform to build her recipe experiments and blogging about health and wellness.

I took Marisa through a brand strategy worksheet, which helped extract, define, and provide clarity of her mission, vision and values for the Roots Wellbeing. The most important values that Marisa wanted to portray with all that she does was Quality - Professionalism - Contemporary - Educational. From here a brand story developed providing a direction that would capture these key visual words Nourishing, Classic yet Contemporary, Original and Craftsmanship. I created a logo which was all about connecting the personal brand and business name together, to unify and establish a trustworthy reputation.

I chose a font crafted by Australian typeface designer which has meticulous flourishes to a classic serif style, this adds a friendly personality to the brand name. The font was contrasted with a modernised sans-serif typeface which marks the simplistic element in the brand. Adding more authentic craftsmanship, I sourced illustrations from botanical artist Lara Gastinger which were softly contrasted with simple solid background colours. A flexible range of badges were developed as a secondary element to enhance the original stamp-like quality of the identity.
